Questions.
Do we need any hardware?
No. Visitors use the phone in their pocket, in their own browser. Live Labels run in a browser too, so any screen you already own will do: a TV with a browser, a media stick, a spare tablet. Nothing to buy, nothing to install.
Is there a contract?
No. You pay monthly by card and cancel any time from your portal, with no notice period. The price on this page is the price.
Where does the data live, and what do you collect about our visitors?
Curious runs on Cloudflare. Visitors need no account and give no name: we record which pages were opened and when, the browser language and device type, and a first-party cookie that recognises a returning phone for a year. Badges and trails are kept on the visitor’s phone, with a copy on our servers under the same random ID. The detail is in our privacy policy.
Can we try it before we buy?
Yes, right now: the code on Sealife Adventure’s story opens a live guide, running today at a UK aquarium. If you’d like to see it in your own colours, with your own animals, e-mail [email protected] and we’ll build you a preview.
How does Guide Pass work?
You pay nothing a month and get everything in Accelerate. Visitors scan a sign, see the animal’s photo, names and conservation status, and buy a pass to unlock the rest for 12 months. Sales go to your own Stripe account, and Stripe passes our 25% share to us at the moment of sale. How Guide Pass works.
Can we keep a monthly plan and sell passes too?
No. Guide Pass is the way to sell passes, and it replaces your plan. You can turn it off any time and choose a plan again.
What do visitors see without a pass?
Every animal’s photo, common name, scientific name and IUCN conservation status. Live Labels in your building always show everything, and every scan still counts in Insights, whether or not they buy.
Can visitors donate to our conservation work?
Yes, on Accelerate and Guide Pass. Create an appeal, set a suggested amount and a goal if you want one, and choose the exhibits, species or animals it appears on. Visitors give in one tap with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. The money goes straight into your account, less Stripe’s card fee, and we take nothing.
Can we change plan later?
Yes. Move up or down whenever you like from the billing link in your portal, which opens Stripe’s secure customer page. Or e-mail [email protected] and we’ll change it for you.
